Why I need the iSTEPup Foundation
Life in Kenya is very hard especially when you are a foreigner. It’s even more difficult when one doesn’t have a job, our main support system is only from those in south Sudan. And especially on my side, my dad works as a south sudanese soldier, he doesn’t receive monthly payment since the war in 2013 happened. I have been fortunate enough to finish my high school and primary only through the grace of God. When I finish, I didn’t have money to join school and in Kenya those jobs with high pay require one to have finish school either diploma or degree, even those with certificate still don’t get jobs. I invested a lot in my time in hobbies such as football, reading and music. It was a form of keeping myself busy since I didn’t have money to join college like other students.
Am really grateful to iStepUp foundation for this opportunity because at least now I won’t be staying at home. I will be busy studying and now have a higher chance of getting a good high paying job after finishing. This is purely the work of God and am very thankful to my Bishop Wilson Garang and iStepUp foundation. I am not a person blessed with many opportunities but this is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank you!
