Warm greetings, my name is Angelica María Guerrero Falconí, and I am a third-year medical student. I am from a small town on the northern coast of Peru where I grew up and completed my basic education. There are no professionals in my immediate family, so I’m very happy to be able to study. I really like my degree; each new lesson gives me more clarity and confidence to keep going.

My name is Maria Vasquez-García, born in Trujillo, Peru, and trained as a lawyer at the local university. For many years, I served as a legal advisor and consultant with the Presbyterian Church in Trujillo and Lima, combining professional expertise with community service. Alongside my husband, I have raised four sons, all of whom are now pursuing higher education—an achievement that has strengthened my conviction that education is the foundation for a better future.
Beyond my work in Peru, I have dedicated myself to volunteer service in the Dominican Republic, Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Liberia. These experiences allowed me to contribute to diverse projects and learn deeply about the challenges faced by communities across Africa and Latin America. Although financial constraints have limited my ability to continue volunteering in recent years, my commitment to supporting education remains unwavering.
Today, I am focused on helping Angelica, the first-born daughter of my dear cousin, pursue her dream of higher education. I have known Angelica since her childhood—fond memories of her playing with my sons and helping my mother walk during visits remain vivid. From an early age, she demonstrated resilience, compassion, and a natural strength to uplift others. Angelica is not only committed to her own growth but also capable of making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.
I am currently consulting with the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Peru and, within my means, contributing to Angelica’s scholarship. Yet, I know that greater support is needed to ensure she can fully realize her potential. I appeal to you to consider investing in her education. By supporting Angelica, you are not only empowering one young woman but also planting seeds of transformation in her community and beyond.
Life is difficult without a career, in Peru and everywhere. Education is the most powerful tool for transformation, and I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure Angelica has access to it.
