Why I need the iSTEPup Foundation

I amm currently working at the Lion Heart Medical Centre as a junior clinician with a diploma in clinical medicine and community Health, all this year's it has always been my dream of pursuing and elevating my clinical career because I know my lower level of studies will limit my interventions in patient care and management. With all my financial struggle I was able to apply at Njala University to pursue a BSC in community Health and clinical medicine planned for a period of 3 years which will help me upgrade my clinical knowledge. That is why I need this scholarship to help reduce my financial burden so that the study will be easy for me.

Buddy

Lisa Cornelissen, Medical Doctor Global Health.

For the past two years I have been working as a medical doctor in Lion Heart Medical Center, Yele, Sierra Leone. Soon after I started working in Sierra Leone, Adama started working in the hospital as well. Immediately I was impressed by her. She is a motivated and dedicated woman. She has great knowledge and if the knowledge is not there yet, she is driven to get the knowledge. We have worked together a lot, in the outpatient department, clinical department and as the on call team and I always loved working together. Just as myself, she is passionate to improve healthcare for everyone, but especially for women. We therefore, together with a great team, set up a project to start cervical cancer screening. Adama is the leading CHO in this project. Even now, just after becoming a mom, she is motivated to pursue further studies and improving health care in the Gbonkolenken region. Therefore I'm convinced Adama will succesfully accomplish her further studies and her future dreams. I'm proud to say that I'm her buddy.
