Why I need the iSTEPup Foundation

I’m facing significant financial challenges that threaten to derail my dreams due to the unexpected loss of my father in 2010, which left my mother, a single parent, to shoulder the responsibility of providing for our family.

Despite her efforts, the cost of private universities in Malawi remains a burden. I’ve remained committed to my studies, driven by my passion for nursing and my desire to make a difference in my community. The iStepUp Scholarship represents a vital opportunity for me to continue my education and pursue my dreams.

With this support, I’ll focus on my studies, gain practical experience, and develop the skills necessary to become a compassionate and dedicated nurse. I’m confident that this scholarship will empower me to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for my family. I’ll use this opportunity to work diligently, serve my community, and become a role model for young girls.

I’m grateful for your consideration, and I look forward to the possibility of receiving this scholarship. Your support will be a testament to the power of kindness and generosity, and I’ll be forever grateful.

Buddy

Rebecca Dice,  lecturer nursing-midwifery department of Malamulo College of Health Science.

I, Rebecca Dice, am a lecturer for the nursing-midwifery department of Malamulo College of Health Science in Malawi.  I am an American-trained certified nurse-midwife (CNM) with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN).
Bernadetter Hazwell, is a student in Malamulo College of Health Sciences in Malawi where I (Rebecca Dice, CNM, MSN)  am a lecturer for the nursing midwifery program.  Because the economy has been rapidly shrinking, her request for assistance was not a surprise.  Many students are unable to continue without outside help.  In Malawi, families will often invest heavily  in one child with the hopes that if that one is educated that they will then be able to support the rest of the family to grow.  I think Bernadetter is that person for her family., but they need help  I’m grateful to iStepUp for including her in their scholarship program.  She is working hard to maintain her marks and is a promising candidate.
